An innovative design to drive scale and efficiency
CarboFlow is equipped with 20 coordinated shaftless auger drives that move, distribute and mix the feedstock evenly inside the chamber. The drives are arranged and controlled in a way that ensures uniform heat exposure to every feedstock particle - whether the feed is wood chip, AD digestate, EFB pellets, or low-density agricultural residues like rice husks.
The result is a system that accepts diverse feedstocks, ensures uniform pyrolysis across the chamber, and consistently produces high-quality biochar.
How does the agitation work?
The motion of the auger drives generates "agitation" in the feedstock, essentially twisting and turning it as it moves along the chamber.
Agitation actively breaks up feedstock clumps, levels feed depth, and uniformly exposes all the feedstock to the heat. This ensures that the biochar produced is consistent and thoroughly pyrolyzed.
Simple controls allow the operators to tune their speed for each feedstock type so that the same machine reliably produces uniform biochar across varied inputs.
